It’s the time of year I dread.. having to do a price rise.I try so hard to keep my products affordable, and to make them the very best value for money that they can be, but some things are out of my control. Tomorrow I must put up some of my prices.
How to soften the blow?? with giveaways and specials of course! And here is the giveaway part.
I must soon put an order in with my American fragrance supplier, and I want to order a new fragrance.. as the users of my products, I will let you choose which one.

not being a winner means you don’t like me…

Here’s an observation on something I see time and time again on facebook pages.. everyone is all keen to have LOTS of likers, and will do anything to get more fans.. I can see why.. we are taught that popularity is good. But I do notice, that after every giveaway, I lose a few likers.. seems they only hang around for the free stuff.. I can understand that too, we are taught from a young age that free is great, and who doesn’t want something for nothing.
But you know what?? I would rather have seven likers, if they TRULY liked my goodies, and purchased regularly, or were interested in contributing to building my business in some way, perhaps by offering ingredient suggestions, testing new products, letting me know about new opportunities.. THOSE are the customers I want.. and I will bend over backwards for them… the other fans, those who only participate when there is something for nothing?? I can live without them, in fact I do very well without them, and do not lose sleep when they leave.
So, gentle reader, tell me, do you sign up for every free offer under the sun, or do you only look if you are interested, like me?? I HATE to waste a small business person’s time, and won’t enter a giveaway if it’s something I can’t use or don’t love. how about you???
Because I LOVE my agents!
One of the things that I love about my business is when a customer is so happy that they want to sell my stuff themselves.. if that isn’t the most positive feedback in the world, well, I don’t know what is! So far, EVER person who decides to sell my goodies is someone who has used them and fallen in love with them.
I have several agents in NSW, a couple in Victoria and one in qld so far, some sell at markets, some do party plan, some are stores that stock my goodies on their shelves, and I am eternally grateful to them all for their hard work, their encouragement and their vote of confidence.

Either.. or…. ?
Hand Cremes…. I love them, and so do a lot of you :>
But.. HOW do you want them packaged?? I currently do a 100g tub. I like the size, it’s easy to post, easy to use, with its wide mouth, easy to label (though double the price of other packaging, due to the size of the label)the packaging is reasonably priced to boot, AND, importantly, it is very easy to fill.
In the past I also offered 100g flip top tubes, I thought these would be a sure fire winner. Easy to use one handed, easy to carry in a hand bag, even though they were a PITA to fill. They didn’t sell. REALLY didn’t sell. Much disappointment here. So, I learnt my lesson and discontinued them.
Until now.
I have received several requests for tubes, including some from my lovely LOVELY resellers. I have promised them some market research, which is where you, my lovely customers come in.

If only it were as easy as ‘cut and paste’
Updating the website today… sounds like a simple job. No.
Three people, five monitors on three systems, lots of running between and actually EMAILING the person sititng 10 yards from you.. more back and forward than a grand slam tennis match.
Been going on for 7 hours so far.. no signs of stopping yet.
You would think that things look amazingly different, but no, I doubt any customers will even notice the few ‘seeable’ things that we have done. In fact, if we get ONE comment about it, I will fall over! (and ask Mr OP to take pictures of said action).
But, at the end of it all, there will be a printable catalogue that resellers can use. It will be all worth it.

apparently, there’s only one thing that’s interesting for soap buyers…
And that’s free stuff..
So.. let’s start a special of the day, sometimes it will be free stuff, sometimes it will be cheap stuff (which is just as good, I promise!)

to make up for the break – pretty pictures!
Did I mention that I suck at posting on a blog every single day?? I limit my time in front of the monitor, as I would much rather be creating something.
Something pretty.
Something like this.
Technically, even though it’s pretty.. it’s a fail :/
I tried a new technique on these special soaps.. it didnt’ quite work, but I know why, so I will try again :>
But, back to the pretty soaps.
Interesting colours, red, white and blue, and the fragrance is ‘innocence’ which for those who haven’t smelt it, is like a very complex baby powder, but with a lot more depth.
These were a custom order, for a baby shower at the American Embassy in Canberra, they loved them. Thank goodness, that was a huge relief for me – I always bite bite bite my nails when I send out a custom order!!
Who would like a step by step of the creation process when I do a remake?? It’s a lot of fun to make soap, and I know this one would make great pictures :>

A game is fun, but something for free is better….
I LOVE holding naming contests, not only because I truly suck at thinking up names, but also because I have such creative fans. Truly, they inspire me with their ideas.
Of course, giving away stuff is wonderful too, I am always thrilled when a new fan who hasn’t placed an order yet wins a free pack in a contest, I get such lovely emails from them when it arrives, makes all the lye burns and 3am alarm clocks worthwhile.
So, let’s continue with the fun.
I have been working on the ‘bubbly mummas’ range for a while now, tweaking ingredients, sourcing organic alternatives, getting feedback from users. Not my favourite part of the job, this trial and error thing, but it has an important purpose.

Well, I did it.. made a blog.. again.
Lets see how we go. Maybe I should run a book.. my history with blogs.. not so good.
